Biographie
Eric Breton was born in Courbevoie, France. He studied saxophone in Paris with Claude Civelli, Michel Rocques and Jean-Louis Chautemps and later studied briefly in Boston with Joe Viola and George Garzone.
He has played with many different groups from big band (Orchestre Franco-Allemand, Roger Guerin, Claude Bolling, Ron Mesa’s Paris Jazz Repertoire, and Jean-Pierre Derouard Big Band) to smaller groups (Jean-Loup Lognon Sextet, Ronald Baker, Manu Leprince, Sara Lazarus, Alain Jean-Marie). While playing with various groups he has accompanied Dee Dee Bridgewater, China Moses, Didier Lockwood, Rhoda Scott and many others. He was also a member of the salsa band Mambomania and performed throughout Europe with the group.
Eric has been teaching saxophone and jazz ensembles for over 20 years in conservatories in the Paris area. He is presently professor at the Conservatoire de Sarcelles and the Conservatoire de Gentilly.
